Q: What is CartWheels Tumble Bus?
A: CartWheels Tumble Bus is a unique and
innovative way to teach gymnastics and basic motor skills to preschoolers!
We drive a converted school bus to the daycare center or preschool
and park it outside. Then, we lead the children on to the bus and
have a gymnastics class safely on board.
Q:
Who can participate?
A: We want to give the children in
your Daycare Center or Preschool Program the opportunity to take
part in out gymnastics program. Our program is designed for children
between the ages of 18 months to 6 years.
Q:
How can my child participate in the CartWheels Tumble Bus
Program?
A: We understand how difficult it can be for you to transport
your children
to gymnastics facilities for lessons. But we truly believe that basic gymnastics
instruction builds a platform for all future athletics, and ensures
plenty of good exercise, fun and confidence-building in the process.
Thats why we want to bring our program to your
childs daycare or preschool facility.
If our program is already at your daycare or preschool you
can register your child online. Please go to Register
My Child to sign up today!
If the CartWheels program is currently not at your
daycare or preschool, have your director contact us and we will
be happy to bring our program to you!
Q:
Who teaches the CartWheels Tumble Bus Program?
A: Alison Brown is the director and coach for the CartWheels
Tumble Bus. Alison is a graduate of Radford University. She has
over 13 years of gymnastics experience as both a gymnast and a coach.
Alison attended Mills Godwin High school here in Richmond, VA. While
living in Northern, VA, Alison was a Senior Camp Counselor at George
Mason University. Alison has been directing and teaching the Tumble
Bus program for over a year and loves teaching her students new
and fun things each day.
Q: Do I have to wait until the beginning of a session to enroll by
child?
A: Your child can begin classes at anytime. If you join us during the middle of
a session, at the time of enrollment, we will simply pro-rate the
session or month depending on the payment option you choose.
Q: What is the bus like?
A: CartWheels is a very large air-conditioned school bus
that is completely remodeled inside.
All of the bus seats have been removed; leaving an area that
is 7 feet wide and 28 feet long.
Q: What equipment will my child be working on?
A: There is a nice cushioned, carpeted floor area for tumbling.
We also have specially designed preschool equipment that
we will bring each week for classes, including: balance beams, bars,
mats for tumbling, mini-trampolines and parachutes.
Our equipment also includes a variety of specialty
equipment suited for preschoolers, such as: monster donuts, incline
mats, mail box, octagon barrels, and a spring board for vaulting.
Our colorful and Fun Shaped Mats are designed
to teach and excite students while learning the basic concepts of
gymnastics.
Q: What will the students learn?
A: CartWheels Tumble Bus introduces children to
all of the Olympic gymnastics events: balance beam, horizontal bars,
floor exercise (tumbling), vaulting, still rings, and parallel bars. While learning the basics, children will develop strength,
coordination and self-confidence along with basic motor skills. Children also learn the importance
of waiting their turn, praising others, being rewarded for good
behavior and following directions. Please check out our custom-made weekly
class lesson plans.
